If you take a quick look and notice two or three dislodged tiles, but a roofer gives you a quote for twenty odd, they may be ripping you off so try looking elsewhere.
Ask for recommendations – Another great way of finding a reliable roofer is to simply ask for recommendations from friends or family. As them if they have had work done to their roof, if they were happy with the price and the service, and whether or not they’ve had any problems since. If the same name/company keeps popping up then you may have found your man.
Ask for a written quotation – Another great tip for finding a reliable roofer is to request a written quotation up front, before they begin the work. If they’re hesitant or refuse this could be a sign that they may have been hoping to rip you off and bump up the price of the job before they finished. It’s a dirty tactic but it happens all too often unfortunately. If a roofer is happy to provide you with an upfront quotation however, then this is certainly a very good sign.
